Ask The Doctor: Dr. James Isobe
Each person requires different care, and at Baptist Vein Center, we are equipped to handle a unique variety of vein-related treatments. We use up-to-date technology for a minimally invasive procedure and comfortable recovery.
Duplex Ultrasound: Ultrasound imaging helps the surgeon to understand the size, location, and pathway of the vein. This is non-invasive and painless to the patient.
VNUS ClosureFAST: This is a minimally invasive procedure for varicose veins in which a catheter is inserted into the vein and radiofrequency energy is directed into the vein. The vein essentially closes itself and the body reabsorbs the vein so blood flow can go to healthy veins.
Ambulatory Phlebotomy: Another procedure for varicose veins that may be large and very close to the skin. The vein is extracted through a small puncture in the skin. This is minimally invasive.
Sclerotherapy: A sclerosant is a chemical agent that is injected into a spider vein. This minimally invasive procedure allows the vein to corrode so the body can reabsorb it, thus directing blood flow to healthy veins.
