Your room assignment is based upon your admitting diagnosis and the bed availability on the day of your admission. Private (single bed) and private suites are available. Regardless of room assignment/size, care, treatment and service is provided to all patients equally.
Your Hospital Bed
Your hospital bed is adjustable for your comfort. Bedside rails provide for your protection. They may be raised at night or during the day if you are resting, recovering from surgery or taking certain medications. Your care team will help you adjust the rails as needed.
Color television sets are provided in each room.
Telephones are provided in each room, except in the ICU. To call the hospital operator, dial "0." To place local calls outside the hospital, dial "9" plus the number. To call long-distance from a patient room, dial "9" and listen for the dial tone. Then dial "0"+area code+number being called. An outside operator will answer and assist with your call.
Special telecommunications devices (TDD) are available for the hearing impaired. These can be obtained from your nurse.
